OSI TERMINAL STARTUP PROCEDURE

Before you begin, you must follow the instructions below which best describe your machine’s configuration.

HARD DRIVE OWNERS

  1. Boot your DOS from your hard disk.
  2. Place the Omega PROGRAM disk into Drive A:.
  3. At the C> prompt. type A: <Enter>
  4. At the A> prompt, type INSTALL C: <Enter> [If your hard drive is not designated as Drive C:. then replace the C: in the command to your hard drive disk letter].
  5. When prompted, insert the Omega OPERATIONS disk into Drive A: and press a key.
  6. The installation process creates a subdirectory “OMEGA” in the mot directory of the hard disk and copies all of the necessary files to that directory.
  7. At the C> prompt. type CD \OMEGA <Enter>
  8. Omega can now be started by typing OMEGA <Enter>

TWO DRIVE OWNERS

  1. Boot your DOS disk.
  2. At the A> prompt. type: DISKCOPY B: A: <Enter>
  3. When you see the prompt “Insert Source Diskette into Drive B: Insert Target Diskette into Drive A: Strike a key when ready,” remove your DOS disk from Drive A:, insert a blank disk into Drive A: and insert the Omega OPERATIONS disk into Drive B: and press any key.
  4. When the copy is completed, you will be left at the A> prompt.
  5. At the A> prompt, type MAKEUSER <Enter:>
  6. After a brief disk access, remove the disk from Drive A: This disk is now your personal User Disk This disk should be used as your personal ID disk while playing
  7. Insert the Omega PROGRAM disk into Drive A: and type: OMEGA <Enter>
  8. When prompted for the OPERATIONS disk, remove the PROGRAM disk from Drive A:. Insert the Omega OPERATIONS disk into Drive A: and insert your personal User Disk into Drive B:

ONE DRIVE OWNERS

  1. Boot your DOS disk.
  2. At the A> prompt. type: DISKCOPY A: A: <Enter>
  3. When prompted for the source diskette, insert the Omega OPERATIONS diskette into Drive A:
  4. When prompted for the target diskette. insert a blank disk into Drive A:
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 until the disk copy is completed. This will leave you at the A> prompt.
  6. At the A> prompt, type ONEDRIVE <Enter>
  7. After a brief disk access, remove the disk from Drive A:. This disk is now your personal User disk. This disk should be used as your personal ID disk while playing.
  8. Insert the Omega PROGRAM disk into Drive A: and type: OMEGA <Enter>
  9. When prompted, insert the Omega OPERATIONS disk Into Drive A:
  10.  When prompted for the User disk, insert your personal User disk into Drive A:

3.5” DISK USERS

  1. Boot your DOS disk.
  2. At the A> prompt. type: Diskcopy A: A: <ENTER>
  3. When prompted for source diskette. insert the Omega disk
  4. When prompted for the target diskette, insert a blank disk into Drive A:
  5. Repeat stages 3 & 4 until the disk copy is completed. This will leave you at the A> prompt.
  6. With your COPY of the Omega disk in drive A :, type: MAKEUSER <ENTER> at the A> prompt.
  7. When the prompt reappears. The installation is finished. This disk is now your Personal UserID and Omega disk. This disk should be used as your play disk for Omega.
  8. To start the game. leave your disk in drive A: and type: Omega <ENTER>
